Okay friends before spring officially arrives and we all go crazy on summer clothing and new trending items, let’s take it back to the basics and get your closet ready for anything and everything! When I first started writing this post, I had thought that it would be all about how to help you create a Capsule Wardrobe, but after reading many different articles and other blog post on creating a capsule wardrobe I have decided to go a different route. I simply want to encourage you to take a look at your closet and see if you have the key pieces it takes to start/create a capsule wardrobe if you wanted to. Or to just take these key items, and refresh them/update them. Before we get into all of that let’s talk about what a capsule wardrobe really is! So all this time I thought it was a wardrobe of about 30 items give or take, then every season or few months you buy about 5 new items to add to the wardrobe more then likely they would be trending pieces. Well as you can see this starts to add up very quickly, and before you know it you have just another wardrobe. So what is a “Capsule Wardrobe” to me? It is a collection of clothing that 1. best suites who you are, and 2. is a small collection of streamline (staple pieces) of clothing.

What are these staple pieces (the classics)?  These are also the items that I like to invest in, because you will have these pieces for years so make it good! Trends come and go but these items a will always have your back. Okay the 5 piece I would suggest investing in are…

1. White button down

2. Black dress

3. Skinny Jean

4.Classic Flat

5. Jacket (that best suite you) Example: If you work in corporate you should probably invest in a blazer. If you don’t know where to start with a jacket I would invest in either a blazer, leather jacket, or trench coat.

That is something I love about fashion there is always a way to make it your own. So maybe you don’t like a classic white button down shirt, you think it’s to stiff. Well then go in the direction of a silk white blouse. You are still getting the classic look it’s just more fitting to you! yay! Now I know I have only listed 5 items, but this is just the start. These 5 guys are just the items you should always have in your closet, let’s just say you are keeping your closet in check. 😉 I don’t have skinny jeans on in this post, but I did that because I wanted you to see that you can still mix your classics (staples) with trends, thats why they are Classics! hah! As always I am here to help with any questions you may have!
